Fix & Foxi 50th Anniverary Edition

To mark the 50th anniversary of Fix and Foxi, this varied collection presents a wealth of classic adventures, humorous episodes and fascinating insights into the history of the beloves foxes.
The collection opens with stories such as ,The Magic Mill' and ,The mermaid Queen', in which Fix and Foxi, together with Lupo, find themselves in turbulent and often chaotic situations. Whether it's a headstrong mill goblin conjuring up gold or an angry mermaid queen calling Lupo to account, humour and adventure go hand in hand here. The typical FF humour is also evident in ,The Big surprise', when a well intentioned idea descends into a wonderfully chaotic mess.
Alongside the classic Fix and Foxi sttories, the volume also features other popular characters and series: Pauli, for instance, provides brief, witty entertainment as the ,Terror of the Prairie', whilst Tom and Little Beaverheart have an educational yet amusing encounter with Nikodemus in ,All Smoke'.
Later stories such as ,Pfadkindereien', ,Happy Birthday' and ,Friday the 13th' also capture the series distinctive humour, highlighting in particular lupo's endearing chaotic attempts to prove himself in everyday life, usually with limited success. The anniversary issues is finally rounded off with ,Back to the Future', a specially created first publication.
The volume is complemented by numerous editorial contributions, including a foreword by Alexandra Kauka, background articles on the origins and development of the series, as well as interview and insights into the creative universe of Rolf Kauka.
The result is a loving tribute to five decades of Fix and Foxi, full of nostalgia, humour and timeless comic entertainment.

Libary of Comic Classics - Fix & Foxi and other Stories

In volume 8 of the ,Libary of Comci Classics', Fix and Foxi return to their roots, presenting  an impressive collection of early and formative adventures from the Kauka universe.
It begins with their very first story, in which Fix and foxi are still very much cunning forest dwellers. Whilst hunting for honey, they encounter not only stubborn bees, but also the equally greedy and clumsy Dummer Wolf. With plenty of ingenuity and a good dose of malicious joy, the brothers manage to extricate themselves from precarious situations, an early exapmle of the series characteristic humour.
As the story unfolds, readers encounter numerous familiar characters such as Lupo, whose chaotic antics repeatedly cause a stir, as well as Uncle Fax, whp makes his first appearance and, with his strict manner, thoroughly turns the foxes daily lives upside down. Stories such as ,The Dragon Builders', ,The Pelican' and ,Holiday with Obstacles' showcase the full spectrum of slapstick, adventure and endearing chaos.
A particular highlight is Lupos trip to the ,Free State of Lupoland', where he unwittingly becomes the founder of the state, proving once again that his ideas rarely remain without consequences. more suspenseful tones are also struck, for example in ,The Secret of the Blue Diamond' or in other imaginative episodes centred on ,Good Spirits Ltd'.
Alongside the foxes, numerous other series enrich the volume: Pauli provides humours interludes with his whimsical adventures, whilst ,Mischa in space' offers an extensive science-fiction story. Tom and Little Beaverheart also embark on thrilling Western adventures full of cunning, courage and surprising twists.
The volume is rounded off by further short stories and popular supporting chracters such as Lupinchen and Diabolino, who add to the colourful overall picture with wit and imagination.
Thus, Volume 8 of the comic classics offers not only nostalgic entertainment, but also fascinating insight into the development of the characters and the unmistakable style of Rolf Kauka, a must-have for long-standing fans and newcomers alike.
